Emma Dewires has every reason to look happy as she has secured her first graduate job working in Lincoln for the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.
As part of Emma’s final year studies in PR she undertook as dissertation around the role of PR in destination marketing with a focus on how Lincoln does it. To help with her primary research Emma spoke to Charlotte Goy at the Chamber and made quite an impression. So much so that when Charlotte was looking for a new assistant she remembered Emma when she went along for an interview.
Charlotte observed that “Emma asked me some quite searching questions when she was researching her dissertation and so when she applied for the job as my assistant I was delighted, she really knows her stuff and was ideal to come and be my right hand.”
Emma tells us that “my job involves assisting with the PR and marketing activities that are used by the Chamber to support businesses in Lincolnshire either by promoting Chamber events or helping businesses promote themselves. Daily tasks include designing email marketing campaigns for Chamber members, keeping up with relevant news for web content and updating our social media sites. Other jobs involve attending events, writing content for newsletters, our magazine and press releases as well as helping with press enquiries and undertaking small projects.”
The new job has allowed Emma to relocate from Grimsby and enjoy life in the city as part of the growing band of communications professionals based in Lincoln.
